Economist for Gislaveds Parish

Do you want to help develop the financial work in a parish where structure, collaboration, and responsibility for the whole are important parts of the mission?

The Church of Sweden in Gislaveds Parish conducts a wide range of activities including services, church ceremonies, diaconal work, and education, as well as being responsible for burial services.

The Church House is the administrative center of the parish where functions such as finance, booking, property and cemetery management, secretariat, and communication are gathered. The parish is in a development phase where new joint working methods within the Church of Sweden are being introduced. We are currently implementing Payroll Services and will also connect to Financial Services in the future.

We are now looking for an economist with a focus on financial management and operational support who wants to contribute to this work. The position is a permanent full-time employment (100%).

About the Assignment

As an economist in Gislaveds Parish, you will work closely with the parish priest and operational managers on financial analysis, budget processes, and follow-ups. The role is close to operations and involves providing financial support in planning and monitoring the parish's activities.

Accounting and financial statements are handled in collaboration with Financial Services, which means that the role primarily focuses on financial management, analysis, and operational support. The finance function consists of you and a finance assistant, meaning that together you are responsible for the overall financial work and support each other as needed in both more qualified and more administrative tasks.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Financial management (budget process, forecasts, and budget support to operations)
• Financial follow-up (analyzing budgets, reports, and outcomes for operations)
• Investment management (monitoring and planning the parish's investments)
• Strategic finance (financial planning and asset management)
• Operational support (support to the parish priest and operational managers on financial matters)
• Ongoing financial administration (collaboration with finance assistant)
• Collaboration with Financial Services (contact point during implementation and ongoing collaboration)

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is structured, analytical, and enjoys working both independently and collaboratively. You have an interest in how finance can contribute to the development of operations.

We prefer that you have:

• University degree in finance
• Experience in accounting, financial management, or qualified financial work
• Good analytical skills
• A structured and meticulous working style

It is an advantage if you have experience working within the Church of Sweden or a good understanding of the church's organization and financial conditions.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
